"I Can't do it"
She looked me in the eye and said shyly: " I can't do it".
I said, "I understand. It's very new and very challenging, and can even feel very scary".
She looked at her mum triumphantly; a look that said "you see???????".
We took a synchronised spontaneous deep breath together, looking at each other.
I said, "shall we try to find another way to do it?"...
She hesitated and I went on, "but I will need your help".
She looked amused and curious. ( I needed HER help?)....
"I will need your help to find another way which will be easier.
Do you think you could be my team? We could then help other children, by sharing your way with them".
That was it .She was in. It didn't take long, and she only wanted to repeat it over and over again.
She found a way. HER way.
