Suzuki Spring Workshop in Auckland was a great workshop. Instruments were : Violin, Flute, Cello and Piano. Children were gathered in masterclasses, had group activities and concerts. Parents were rewarded by a talk per day presented by the guest international teachers. Students, parents and teachers created a loving Suzuki community. The words of Dr Suzuki : "where love is deep - much can be achieved" played in my ears as the days go by. The privilege to share the love of music was shared by all. And the food prepared by parents with love and soul was a daily deliciously delight !

Playing with the Body in Mind was presented on 27/9/16 in Auckland,NZ. 10 teachers, from NZSI ( NZ Suzuki Institute) and one "non-Suzuki" piano teachers were gathering to learn about how to make music at the piano with the most natural and holistic usage of body, taking in account the argonomy of the piano. When asked, i say that PBM ( Playing with the Body in MInd) is not for the fainted hearts.... It requires body awareness and willingness to change. We are used to play the piano the way we've always been playing. Thus we think this is our natural way of playing. But as matter of fact, this is only the way we were used to play... The pain ( at times), strain, body stress, fatigue, harsh sound and more, we associate with "the hard task of playing an instrument". This is a myth! Like the old adage "no pain - no gain" - another myth. If we play in a natural way in which our body is asking us to do, we can enjoy a life time of playing with ease. |
